Ooh La La, My Favorite Beret . . .

             N'est-il pas joli!
Hey girls! I just wanted to write a quick post before class about my favorite beret. I love sparkly things like sequins, pretty bows, and I'm obsess with anything Parisian. So when I saw this beautiful sparkly beret on a trip to Lane Bryant with my mother I fell in love and I knew I had to get it. Even though I got this beret in September I couldn't wear it because the weather was still too hot here in L.A. That is until this Monday when the weather finally cooled enough to wear my beret. I wore it with my blue oxford button down shirt from American Eagle, black undershirt, gray skinny jeans, black bow flats, and a black sequin bangle bracelet my best friend gave me and I loved how cute I looked! I'm so excited to wear this beret with different outfits! P.S Do you girls like the new layout?

What's In My Bag . . .

My current bag
Hi girls! Ive been meaning to post a "Whats in my bag" article ever since I posted my "What to have your purse" article. But because of school essays, homework, and project I have not been able to post It up until now. The bag I'm currently using is a medium sized blue/gray-ish colored purse from Coach that I got on a trip to Las Vegas this July.

The contents of my bag
  What I have inside:

Hello Kitty Wallet: For some reason people give me alot of wallets so I change wallets frequently. Before this one I was using a long Jessica Simpson brown leopard print wallet that I still love but the one I'm currently using is a Hello Kitty wallet given to me by one of my aunts for my birthday. Where I keep I.D, credit cards, store cards, library cards, cash, and receipts.
Coach Reading Glasses: I have bad vision so I need glasses for driving or when I seat in the back of a classroom and can't see the board.
Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses: These sunglasses are special to me because they used to belong to my dad but he gave them to me last year and I love them so much.
Lotion: I keep a small travel size lotion bottle that I filled with some lotion from Gucci that I got from my sister.
Gum: I always keep gum or mints just in case I need some to freshen my breath or to wake me up when my attention is wandering during class.
Tylenol: I got a little packet of  Tylenol (Aspirin) pills from my campus student store that I have in my purse for emergency.
Perfume: I keep a small Ed Hardy Hearts & Daggers travel size perfume bottle that I got from a gift set that my aunt gave me. It smells so nice! I love it.
Keys: I always have my house and car keys in a cute Alice in Wonderland key chain that my sisters' boyfriend gave me.
Hair brush/mirror: I found this cute hair brush that has a mirror in it when I open it. Very convenient.
Hair clip, Hair tie, & Bobby pins: I always like keeping these in my purses for whenever I need a quick hair fix-me up.
Pen & Post-Its: Always good to have for when I have to write things down and I always have the pen un-clicked or with the top on so my bag does not get any ink stain.
Tissues: My friend gave some Hello Kitty tissues for Christmas 2 years ago that are just so cute! Luckily the tissues were big so I was able to cut them in half to make more tissues.
Glam Bag: I always keep my Glam Bag on me, for quick touch-ups.

What is inside my Glam Bag today?
I change my Glam Bag pretty much everyday. I always change the lip wear and the blush according to what I'm wearing that certain day.

Makeup Bag: The makeup bag I use is a small pink and white flower one from Clinique that I got this year on bonus time.
Powder: I always have this on me no matter what, it is probably the one item that you will always find in there.
Eyelash Curler: Curling your eyelashes instantly opens up your eyes, so I like using my Revlon curler to give them a extra boost if I start looking tired.
Blush: On this particular day I used a Clinique blush in Chestnut.
Lip Stain: Today I used my E.L.F Studio Lip Stain in Heartbreaker
Lip Stick: This was from the day before where I used E.L.F Studio Line Matte Lip-Color in Tea Rose. I just forgot to take it out.
Lip Gloss: This Stila Lip gloss in Grapefruit was also from the day before that I used over the matte lip color that I also forgot to take out.

And that's it girls! A look in what's in my bag. I hope you enjoyed reading it and I would love feedback and insight on what is in your bag.

D.I.Y: Beauty Binder

Have a bunch of magazines laying around not knowing what do with them but don't want to throw them away because you fear that there may be something in there you may use one day? Well I have the perfect solution for you. Why not make a Beauty Binder out of them? A beauty binder is a binder full of fashion advice, beauty tips, makeup ideas that you would like to try. I actually came up with this during the summer when I was going thru old magazines and thought "Wow there is alot of useful information in these magazines, but there is so many. How will I keep track of all of them?" and that's when the idea of making a beauty binder came to my mind. Instead of putting things in my walls or keeping piles and piles of magazines that only take up space, why not just put them all together neatly and organized in a easily accessible binder?
Materials you need

Things needed:
  • Stacks of magazines
  • Binder
  • Sheet Protectors

Instructions:
1. Get all of your magazines and go thru them page by page and rip out/cut out any fashion tips, beauty advice, makeup inspiration you would like to try. *Optional: I also ripped out inspiration pieces that can give me a confidence boost*

2. Once you have all the pages you want to put in the binder you are going to put them in sheet protectors. On the pages where there are advertisements behind it you can put it back to back with another page that has a advertisement behind it and put them in a single sheet protector.

An example of the inside

3. After you have them all in their sheet protectors you can now put them in the binder. *Optional: I organized mine by sections (Beauty, Hair, Makeup, Fashion, and Inspirational) So if you like, you can also organize them by sections.*

4. As for the cover you can make it yourself by adding glitter, ribbon, magazine cut outs, stickers whatever you want, make it unique like you. I used a page from the magazine that I thougth was perfect for my binder, but I'm still in the process of making a new cover by using scrapbook paper and scrapbook stickers and embellishments.

Cover
And as easy as that you have your very own beauty binder .Now you can easily keep track of all the ideas and tips you want to try out and recycle all those old magazine that have no more use for you and make room for all the new magazines coming your way. If you make yourself one I would love to see how it turns out. . .

Random Thought. . . .

What a good looking couple!
This weekend I finally went to see "Breaking Dawn'' in theatres and I completely loved it. I especially loved Bella's & Edward's wedding, it was so beautiful! I wish my wedding would be like that. Even all the guests were dressed beautifully but there was one person in particular that made my jaw drop. No it wasn't Edward looking so handsome in his Tuxedo nor was it Bella in her stunning Carolina Herrera wedding gown, but non other than Alice Cullen. Alice wore a lavender beaded flapper style dress that was to die for, and styled her short hair with finger waves to complete her 1920's look. I love all different fashion eras, there is something in each of them that I love but out of all the different eras I would have to say that the 1920's are my most favorite. I love the glamour of that era, I sometimes wished I lived in that decade just to be able to wear a beautiful dress like Alice Cullen that looks straight out of The Great Gatsby. . . .

Recipe: Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Hi girls! I'm a pretty decent cook so I wanted to share with you a quick and easy chicken noodle soup that my mom showed me that I love to do during cold weather whenever we have leftover chicken. Because Thanksgiving was this past Thursday we have tons of turkey leftover so I wanted to make some soup for my family today and I wanted to share it with you girls.
Ingredients:
  • 8 Cups of Chicken Broth
  • 7 Stalks of Celery
  • 5 Carrots
  • 1 Bag of Egg Noodle Pasta (Or which ever pasta you prefer)
  • Mrs. Dash Original Blend Spice
  • 1 Cup of boneless Chicken or Turkey Breast Diced in Bite Sized pieces.
Preparation:

1. Boil your chicken broth in a big pot. If you do not have chicken broth you can just add 1 teaspoons of chicken bouillon to each cup of water you are using ( in this case you will be using 8 teaspoons of chicken bouillon, one teaspoon for every cup of water) You can also add the chicken bouillon by taste, which is what I do.

2. While your chicken broth is coming to a boil, chop up your celery, carrot, and chicken. Trim your celery stalks and dice them diagonally, I like to leave a few leafs of the celery stalk to add to the soup. Peel your carrots and cut them in circles. Get your chicken or turkey breast and cut them in bite sized squares.

3. Once the chicken broth has already come to a boil add your vegetables and chicken/turkey into the pot and wait 10-15 minutes till you put in your noodle pasta, I used bow-tie pasta because I love bows haha. While the pasta and vegetables are cooking you can add a palm size of Mrs.Dash Original Blend Spice. If you do not have any of Mrs.Dash Original Blend Spice you can use black pepper, garlic, and parsley. Although in my opinion I think Mrs.Dash gives it the best flavor.

4. After you added all your ingredients to the pot all you have to do is wait for the vegetables and pasta to be tender. It may take somewhere between 20-30 minutes, depending on how high or low you have it cooking.

Yummm!! I like to eat my soup with a squeeze of lemon juice and hot sauce.
And Voila! In just 4 steps you have made yourself a delicious soup to warm you up on those cold winter days. Enjoy!

Trend to Try: Knitted Headband

All headbands from forever21.com

Last year for Christmas my godmother gave me a pretty knitted headband in a dusty rose color with a flower on the side that was made by hand by my other aunt and I loved it. Not only did I love it because it was made from love but also because it was something different. At that point I hadn't really seen these around where I live which I found really strange because I think they are cute, but this year I've been seeing them sold in stores.

Me wearing my knitted headband
I think these are perfect to wear during the cold months. They keep your ears warm while still making you look cute. Think of it as a chic alternative to beanies. I like wearing mine on my "lazy days" with plain white long sleeve scoop neck shirt from h&m, with dark rinse skinny jeans and my tan Ugg boots. And I also like wearing my sisters red one with white long sleeve shirt, black skinny jeans, leopard flats and a red knitted scarf. But they are also plenty of stylish ways to wear these, the only limit is your creativity.

A example on how to wear a knitted headband.
So give them a try this winter season, you might be surprised how great these headband really are, and they really do keep your ears warm.

My New Favorite T.V Show

Every Sunday at 8pm on channel 7 ABC

One of the many great things about fall is the new fall t.v lineup. Sure I was sad when my summer and spring shows like "Pretty Little liars" and "The Lying Game" were over but the hope of finding a new favorite t.v show kept my hopes high. Along with the return of old favorites like "How I Met Your Mother", "The Vampire Diaries", "Modern Family" and "Criminal Minds" I can always count on finding at least one new show destined to become a new favorite of mine and I was not disappointed. There was actually alot of new shows that I really liked such as "The Secret Circle", "American Horror Story", and "2 Broke Girls". But there was one show in particular that had me the second I saw it and that is "Once Upon A Time. . ."

"Once Upon A Time" is a fairy tale drama where the residents of Storybrooke,Maine are actually fairy tale characters who are in a spell casted by the evil queen where nobody remembers who they are and there is no such thing as a happy ending. Their only salvation being Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter Emma Swan who is found by Henry the son she gave up for adoption 10 years earlier who is the only one who knows the truth about the residents of Storybrooke,Maine. All thanks to a book of fairy tales that was given to him by his teacher Mary Margaret (Snow White).
I love fairy tales and fairy tale adaptations so it is no surprise why I fell in love with this show. There is alot more to the show than what I described above but because I do not want to give anything away I kept it short. I really recommend this show if you also like fairy tales like me or just need a new show to watch that is different from the usual drama and comedies. Have you seen "Once Upon A Time" ?, and did you like it? Or is there a new fall show that you liked and would like to recommend? Feel free to share. . .

Beauty Problems: Covering up a zit

Pyhsician Formula

It happens to all of us, that little zit that seems to appear when we least expect it. But have no fear, thanks to the miracle of makeup we can now cover up those pesky zits without piling up the extra coverage. All you need to cover up the zit are 2 things.
  • Green tinted concealer
  • Regular concealer
Step 1:
Dot green-tinted concealer directly on your pimple and gently pat it on. The green reduces the redness of the pimple.
Step 2:
Dot on some of your favorite concealer over the pimple and gently pat it down till it is blended. This blends into your skin so that way nobody will notice that you have anything.

And it's just that easy to cover up your zit. Although it is better not to use any makeup on it and let it take its own course, it seems that these pesky little suckers pop up on days when it is necessary to wear makeup. Nonetheless, now you have a quick and easy way to cover up those unwelcome little visitors.

What to have in your bag. . . .

You can find this bag at Target.com

A bag is pretty important in a girls life. It is where we keep our wallet, keys, snacks, cameras, lip gloss, magazines and so on. Whats in a girls bag varies from girl to girl but just like a girls closet I believe there are a few basic items that should be in every girls bag.
  • Body Spray/Perfume: I like to smell pretty, and I'm sure so do you.
  • Mints/Gum: You never know when your breath is kicking and need to freshen up your breath.
  • Feminine Products: This is pretty self-explanatory, you never know when you or your friends might need one.
  • Lotion: I just always like to randomly put on some lotion on my hands whenever I feel they are ashy or dry.
  • Wallet: You should never leave without your wallet. It has your id's, credit cards, change, and money.
  • Keys: Yeah these are pretty important. How else will we get into our house or get in our cars.
  • Notepad/Post-its: You never know when you might need to write some things down.
  • Pen: You can't write things down on a notepad if you don't have something to write things with right?.
  • Sunglasses: Because I live in Southern California where the sun always shines (most days) these are necessary to have in my bag. But either way sunglasses are always good to have in your bag for when the sun is hitting your face and bothering your eyes and they give you a glamorous feel .
  • Pill box: Keep a small tin box or small packets of medicine like Tylenol for emergencies.
  • Tissues: Yeah you do not want to be out and about with a runny nose and no tissues.
  • Blotting Paper: This is really mostly for girl who have oily skin. These take off the excessive oil from your face without taking of your makeup.
  • A few bobby pins and one or two hair ties for your hair: For when you want to quickly change your look, fix your hair or when you need to keep your hair out of your face.
  • A Little Brush: This is too keep our hair looking pretty and manageable.
  • "Glam Bag": A glam bag is a small makeup bag where you keep your touch up makeup which may include powder, mascara, lip gloss, blush, and eyelash curler.
I know this seems like a pretty extensive list to put in your bag depending how big it is but you can always cut down the list to the things that are more important to you. I will have my own "What's in my bag" post real soon.

Miss Piggy for M.A.C

Isn't she GLAM!

After a short break from Hollywood Miss Piggy is back thanks to The Muppets movie coming out later this month. She has been seen everywhere from interviews, talk shows, t.v slots and even did a fashion spread for InStyle magazine wearing some of the best designers. To celebrate the big return of Miss Piggy to the big screen on The Muppets, her and M.A.C cosmetics created a limited edition online exclusive collection for Eyes featuring Miss Piggy Pink Eye Shadow, Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapid black & 36 Lash. To give you the fabulous look that Miss Piggy is famous for.
I for one am excited to see Miss Piggy back on the spotlight. When I opened up my November issue of InStyle magazine I was pleasantly surprised to see that the magazine not only gave her a small interview but a fashion spread. I love that she is so confident, fabulous and does not take any crap from anyone, and her love for Kermit is just so sweet awwww.

*I'm not being payed to advertise this. I just found it extremely cute and wanted to share it the rest of you.

Random Thought. . . .

My Closet (Sorry for the un-made bed)

I'm currently in the process of re-doing my bedroom and while I was cleaning out some old stuff that I will be throwing away or giving away to someone else I decided that after I'm done redoing my room my next project will be redoing my closet! =-D. By redoing my closet I mean that I will be throwing out a lot of junk that I have and giving away some of the clothes I do not use anymore. I also hope to buy a big plastic storage containers to put inside of my closet to keep things organize and hopefully a small shoe rack to put my shoes. I have a decent size closet but the amount of junk I have in there minimizes my closet space, so all I want to  do is organize and add a few things. I'm so excited for this.

Any ideas that would be helpful for me? Have you done your own closet? If you have any ideas or advice you would like to share with me, feel free to let me now.

Review: mark. Glow Baby Glow Luxe Hook Up Lip Gloss in Choco Luxe & Melon Luxe

Choco Luxe (Left) & Melon Luxe (Right)

Today something very special arrived to me by fed-ex this afternoon, a mark. Glow Baby Glow Luxe Hook Up Lip Gloss in Choco Luxe and Melon Luxe. I actually won this on elleandblair.com last week for correctly guessing who was the starlet in red lips from the "Gloss Over This" post. This is the second time I won something from elleandblair.com thanks to the "Gloss Over This" post, and I absolutely loved it. So when this arrived for me I was so excited to open it up and see what lip gloss color I would be getting. When I opened it I was glad to see that they send me another hook up lip-gloss, on one side it was a brown bronzy shimmer and on the other a pretty hot pink-ish shimmer color.

Swatches: Melon Luxe (Left) & Choco (Rigth)
My first though when I saw this was how pretty they were. The first mark. hook up gloss I won from elleandblair.com was also a brown bronzy color but on the other side it is a purple burgundy color that I love! (I will also review it also). So the brown bronzy color wasn't new for me but I was still happy to get it because I love brown/bronzy lip colors for those days when I'm having low key days with minimum makeup. Although I the hot pink-ish shimmer lip gloss is somewhat similar to my Clinique Kissy Fit Long-Lasting lip gloss, I still love it because I love, love, love pink colors! When I tried it on my lips it gave them a nice tint of color that makes them look natural with a little pop that doesn't look over the top which is perfect for me. One more thing I love about these lip gloss are that they smell like spear mint, how soothing! Overall I think this is defiantly a good purchase for anyone, and will most likely buy some more once I run out.

Hit or Miss? Fur Vests

On this segment of Hit or Miss? I'll be discussing the popular fall trend of fur vest. We have seen celebrities like Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Jeniffer Lopez, Kate moss, Mischa Barton, and Rachel Zoe rocking this trend all over Hollywood. This statement piece vest give a very glam, boho, and edgy feel to a otherwise ordinary outfit. This trend isn't for the faint of heart, it takes a lot of confidence to rock this out on the street. If done correctly it can make you look and feel like a million bucks. I however am not on board with this fall trend. I do think this is too bold for my liking, even if I'm willing to take more risk in fashion I do not think I would want to try this out myself. I may like it on other people who can sure pull it off, and see how well they pull it together but I however can't see myself rocking this trend. This just isn't my style and I do not like wearing any kind of fur which I avoid wearing if I can, which makes it a MISS in my list.

The Fur Vest trend done well
What about you? Are you on board with this trend? Is it a hit or miss in your list? Let me know. . . .

Happy Birthday Grace Kelly!

Today is the birthday of Grace Kelly, an American actress turned Princess of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III in April 1956. This Philadelphia native was more than just a pretty face with great style, she was also a great actress nominated for various Golden Globe and winning a Academy Award for her lead in "The Country Girl" in 1954. Grace Kelly had class, elegance, beauty, style and compassion everything a Princess should be which was no surprised when Prince Rainier chose her to be his wife. As Princess of Monaco she went on to achieve great things as founding the World Association of Children, and being actively involved in the art community. She also had a impeccable sense of style! Being the Princess of Monaco she knew she couldn't dress as sexy as the other stars of her time but her femininity, elegance, and classy choices made her stand out just as much as the rest. Which is why she was considered a fashion icon, for showing the world you can still receive attention by being a classy lady. She is still much of a style icon now that she then, by being an inspiration to a whole new generation. Kate Middleton's wedding dress was even inspired by Grace Kelly wedding dress. Sadly Grace Kelly died in September 1982 when she suffered a stroke while driving with her daughter Princess Stephanie. Grace Kelly may be long gone but her legacy still leaves on.

What I'm Currently Reading: The Looking Glass Wars

I wished my books were like that
Okay so besides my passion for fashion and all beauty things related I also have a passion for books. I can't get enough of them, I have at least 75 books in my personal library. Ever since I was little my mother used to read to me and buy me tons of books. I still remember my first trip to the library and how many books I came home with and I owe it all to my mother who shared her passion with me. Which is why I wanted to share with you the books that I'm currently reading and hopefully you will want to read it also =-)
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
The book that I'm currently reading is "The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor" the first book in "The Looking Glass Wars" trilogy. This book is about the "true" story of Alice in Wonderland, where Wonderland is not just a silly childhood story but a real place where things aren't the way we were made to believe in. The book revolves around Alyss Heart the princess of Wonderland and rightful ruler who ends up in London,England thanks to a series of unfortunate events caused by her aunt Redd. As the book progresses we see how Alyss grows up struggling to fit in a world where she is alone and nobody believes her stories of Wonderland. Although the main protagonist of the book is Alyss we also see a glimpse into the life of Queen Redd as she maintains a her reign by means of using black imagination. And a glimpse into Hatter Madigan, Dodge Anders, Bibwit Harte , and the Alyssians ( a rrebellious army against Queen Redd monstrous reign), as they fight to over throw Queen Redd and her tyrant reign. Will Alyss ever get back to wonderland to defeat her Aunt Redd and take her rigthful place as Queen of Wonderland? Can she do it? In the figth of white imagination vs. black imagination who will win. . . . .

What I think:
Let me just say how much I love this book! I'm a big fan of "Alice in Wonderland", I have the book and both movies. So when I discovered this book I was immediately intrigued by the concept of it. I'm actually reading this book for the second time, sine I'm currently waiting for the second and third book (Seeing Redd #2, Arch Enemy #3) to arrive to my house. I'm so excited to see what happens with Alyss and the rest of the Wonderlanders.

Who might like it?
If you are a fan of "Alice in Wonderland" I suggest giving this book a try, it is a nice interesting take on the story. Also if you are into fantasy and action you migth like this book as well, there even is a little bit of romance. . . . .

What about you?
What are you currently reading? Or what would you like to read? Have you read this book? And if so, what was your take on it? Also don't be shy to leave me book suggestions, I'm open to just about anything. Happy Readings!

Guide to Creating Your Daily Skin-Care Routine . . .

Hi dolls! So recently I wrote a post on how to create your perfect hair routine and I decided that I should also do a guide helping you to create a daily skin care routine that is so easy you wont have a problem following it everyday. The benefits to following a skin care routine are endless! Not only will you look healthier, and make your makeup look better but you will also age better. My mom, aunts, and both grandmothers are proof of this. They all follow their own personal skin care routine and they look great! It might also be genetics since both sides of my family age well but I'm sure having a skin care routine made a difference on how they look. Regardless though my mother taugth me the importance of taking care of my skin ever since I was 13. At the time I payed no attention because I was young and what could possibly happen to my flawless skin? Well as it turned out alot! Because thanks to genetics I suffer from big pores and when I was 13 I had a huge acne problem in which left me with acne scars for life. Which is why I now take my mothers advice and have been taking care of my skin to protect what good I still have. Just how in the "Guide to Creating Your Perfect Hair Routine" I stated that you should take the time to look for the appropriate hair products that go with your hair type,  you should also take the time to find products that go with your skin type (normal, dry, oily, combination).

My daily skin care routine
Step 1: Cleanse
Once you have determined your skin type and found the right cleanser (it can be a bar or liquid, it doesn't matter) go ahead at wash your face with it and pat dry. This is to wash of dirt, grime dirt and leftover makeup residue from the day and aids the cell renewal process.
Step 2: Toner
After you pat dry your face you will take some of your toner in a cotton ball or cotton pad and wipe all over your face. The toner helps to minimize the look of pores, improves your skins texture and to wipe off the remaing dirt from washing your face.
Step 3: Moisturizer
As for you final step all you have to do is to moisturize your face and neck. This will keep your skin hydrated and soft.

Things to remember:
Along with following your routine daily they are also a number of thing you should not forget.

  • Washing your face isn't enough to take off your makeup so take of your make up with makeup remover every night, no matter how tired you are.
  • Try to do your routine twice a day (morning and night), if you do not have time to do it in the morning it is okay. Just make sure to do it every night.
  • Do not forget sun-screen if you are planning to leave your house even if it is cloudy.
  • Trade in your usual face cleanser for an exfoliate scrub every other day to remove dead skin cell.
  • Give yourself a facial once a month for deep-down cleansing.
Also know that you should adjust your skin care routine to your age group, different age groups require different needs. And remember the earlier you start following a skin care routine the more benefits you will see as you get older.

Hit or Miss? Feathers

Feathers in high fashion
Hey ladies, I'm back for another installment of Hit or Miss?, and this time I will be discussing feathers in the fashion world. It seems that this year they have been everywhere from clothes, hair, decoration, and jewelry (to name a few). Although this seems to be the big trend of the year it is by no means something new. Feathers have been used in clothing and as accessories probably since 16th century Europe, if not earlier. Royalty and aristocrats used feathers as decorations and on their wardrobes. During the 1920's, flappers used to adorn their dresses with feathers to give movement when they danced. And even during the 80's girls used to wear feathers in their hair. See how nothing ever truly leaves the fashion world for good, they just seem to take a break before they resurface again with a fresh new outlook.

Stars from the hit show "Pretty Little Liars" rocking the feather trend on the show and off.
In my opinion the feather trend hit big this year when it was shown on two characters from the ABC family hit show "Pretty Little Liars", a show watched by millions of young girls. So in my opinion I give credit to the shows costume designer Mandi Line for putting this trend out there. Now I'll be honest when I first saw feathers being used as a possible fashion trend a few years back I was not too convinced. In my 17 year old mind I thought it looked tacky, maybe I was just not seeing it used properly I do not know but either way I had crossed it from my mental Hit or Miss list. That is until late last year where I started seeing it again in fashion magazines and I realized that in fact I did like this trend. Now I do not know if I had finally seen the feather trend used properly or I just grew up and opened my mind up more but in no time I was considering using feathers in my hair, a concept my family and a few friends found interesting and odd(Probably because the feather trend had not yet hit main stream yet).

Me in my peacock feather headband (Thanks Diana)
I most especially seem to have a likeness for peacock feathers! I had always loved the colors but it seemed now my fascination was growing, you can imagine my joy when my best friend gave a peacock feather headband and peacock feather earrings for Christmas last year. So this trend is on my HIT list because I just love, love, love it! What I love about this trend is that I honestly believe that everyone can wear it, no matter what style you are. What do you think? Hit or Miss?

Guide to Creating Your Perfect Hair Routine . . .

What girl wouldn't die for Jennifer Aniston's beautiful hair?

Hi girls! Sorry that I have been M.I.A for awhile but a lot has been going on in my life with school, family issues, personal issues, and currently in the process of re-modeling my room I have not had the time to write new articles until now. So without further a do I'll get started on this weeks article which has to to with creating a easy hair routine for your hair.

I know some people do not find it necessary to figure out a proper hair routine for themselves but I find having a hair routine figured out for yourself just as important as having a makeup, skin care, and beauty routine. So I'm going to share with you my hair routine that can easily work for you by just finding the proper hair products.

Step 1: Cleanse

Start by shampooing your hair every other day so that way your hair gets the necessary natural oils our hair produces. Although you shampoo hair every other night you should condition your hair every day from where your ear is down to the tips of your hair and leave it on for 5 minutes before you wash it out. This will leave your hair hydrated, soft and shiny.
*When it comes to washing your hair it is important to find a shampoo aimed at your hair type, using the wrong shampoo can give your hair the opposite effect that you desired. For example, I have straight hair that tends to lay flat which is why I use volume shampoo/conditioner to help my hair give the proper lift.
Step 2: Brush
After you get out of the shower and towel dry your hair, brush it with a wide tooth comb. If you do not have a wide tooth comb a plastic paddle brush will work just as well. These two methods of brushing will prevent your hair from snagging or breaking because of the spaces between bristles of the brush and the space between the teeth of the comb.
Step 3: Shine & De-frizz
While your hair is still damp add a small amount of your favorite shine serum through your hair. Comb it out once more to evenly distribute it through your hair and let it air dry.
* If you blow-dry your hair you can do so after applying the serum to your hair. Just remember to blow dry with a round brush and with a low setting to cause the least possible damage to your hair.
Step 4: Finishing Creme

As for the final step, when your hair is fully dry flip your hair over and run a finishing creme through your hair to leave a neat and polished look to it and Voila! your hair routine is complete.

There you go ladies I hope that this easy hair routine will do wonders for your hair just like it did to my hair. Of course they are still many other tips to achieve beautiful locks that I will discuss about later but for now this is a pretty easy starting guide to help you find the right hair routine for you. Just remember to find hair products that work for you and you will have Jennifer Aniston hair in no time.
