My Birthday Wish List

Hi ladies! My 22nd Birthday is coming up in precisely 1 1/2 week (March 3rd to be exact) and my parents have already begun to ask me what I wanted for my Birthday. When they asked me what I would of liked I had no idea what to tell them since I really don't need anything. So while I was thinking of items I would like- I thought it be a good idea to post my birthday wish list just for fun.

Brown Riding Boots:

These would make a great addition to my closet don't you think?

Urban Decay Naked Pallet:

I love this pallet! I tried it over a weekend stay with my cousin a year ago and I fell in love with it. Since it is a bit on the pricey side I cannot make myself buy it even though I could, but it would make a great birthday gift!

M.A.C Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick #2

Believe it or not I do not own any M.A.C products despite loving their bright eye shadows and their popularity among women. I love their first Viva Glam Gaga lipstick so much but because I am unsure how that would look on my skin tone (olive with beige undertones) I am thinking of buying myself the second Viva Glam Gaga lipstick which is great since I do not own any nude color lipstick.

Betsey Johnson Jewelry:

Ah Betsey Johnson, how I love thee! Her jewelry is so girly and quirky that I cant help but fall in love with them. Sadly, the only Betsey Johnson jewelry I own is a really pretty gold bow stretch ring. So receiving a Betsey Johnson jewelry would be really special.

Miss Dior Cherie

This scent is one of my favorites! Although I have never owned it I have always loved this perfume. Everything from the scent, the bottle, to the advertisements- draw me in. And it would be nice to finally have my own bottle.

And there you have my small birthday wish list. I would also like to say sorry for not being very active on my blog lately but I have been a bit busy and have been dealing with something (if you follow me on twitter you might now what I'm talking about). As soon as I get better and feel more like myself I promise to post new and more exciting post. Love you all . . .

Mother Knows Best: Shopping Tips

I know what you are thinking- shopping tips? really? don't you just see what you like and buy it? Well believe it or not, just like everything else in life there is a strategy for shopping. If you are not careful you may walk out  out of the mall with a few unnecessary purchases that you will leave you full of regret or completely broke! My mom not only passed on to me her good taste and style, she also thought me how to shop and get my moneys worth. And I am here today to pass along some very helpful tips to help you become a smarter shopper.

  • Make a Budget: To prevent overspending make a budget for yourself. Determine how much you are willing to spend on clothes and how much you will spend on food. If you have a card with you and you have reached your shopping limit give your card to a friend so that way you wont spend more money.
  • Look Around Before Committing: Unless you are already absolutely sure of what you will be getting I suggest to first look around the mall or stores you are interested in  before buying something. So that way you will be sure of what you want to buy.
  • Look at Sales: The best way to save more money and make your budget last longer is to check out the sales rack. I am constantly going to the sales rack and search for pieces that will make great additions to my wardrobe.
  • Research: The day before you go shopping do some research on which of your favorite stores are having sales so that way you will know if they have something you are looking for.
  • Don't Have Your Size? Buy It Online: If you see something you like but they don't have it on stock, don't be afraid to buy it online. Try on another item that is your size to make sure that stores size fits you ( sizes vary in stores) and once you find your size go online and buy the item you want.
  • Not Sure If You Want Something? Leave It and Then Come Back: Like something but not sure if it is for you, leave it and go on to other stores. If by the end of your shopping trip you are still thinking about that item then you should go back and buy it. If when you get home and discovered you did not need it after all then don't be afraid to return it.
  • Do Not Buy Anything Unless You Have At Least 3 Outfits That Will Go With It: To prevent buying something that you will only use once, make sure you can make at least 3 outfits with your item.
  • Shoe Shop Till The End: The best time to shoe shop is at the end of your shopping trip. The reason for this is because your feet are swollen from all the walking you have done, this way you will have an idea how the shoe will fit and feel after you have walked for a while.
And those are the tips my mom has passed on to me and now I gladly pass them on to you. Do you have any shopping tips of your own that your mom has passed on to you? Or are you a go with the flow buyer? Let me know in the comments below.

I Went Shopping! : Forever 21, WetSeal, Kohl's & Target Haul

Yes ladies I had myself another little shopping spree this past weekend, but it was necessary I swear! Okay, okay maybe not- but it was well deserved. I had not gone shopping for school so I thought it be a good idea to buy myself just a little bit of clothes for myself and hey a girl can never have enough clothes right ?

Forever 21

My first stop at the mall was the ever so popular "Forver21". At Forever21 I picked a nice green woven top with yellow, orange, and white flowers- that is perfect for spring! And probably the only thing on my list I payed full price for (everything else on my list was on sale). As for everything else I got from this store, I got earrings. I like buying earrings that come in packs because they give me more for my buck. So I got a set of multicolored hoop earrings, a set of pastel colored flower earrings ( my favorite ones are the pink, blue, and creme flowers on the very top), and I got the cutest vintage looking mirror earrings that I adore! The reason I got them was because they reminded me of  Beauty and the Beast and because they did not have the vanity necklace I wanted.

Wet Seal

I have a love/hate relationship with Wet Seal, some of their clothes are very Jersey Shore to me and some of their clothes are nice. So it is always a mystery if I will walk out of the store empty handed or with a few great pieces. This time however I walked out with a few goodies that I loved. I found this blue crochet top that I absolutely loved on sale that I knew I had to get. They also had the top in a hot pink and creme color, I originally wanted the creme color top because I could make a lot of outfits with it but sadly they did not have my size (I did order it online though) so I decided to grab the blue one instead that  would also give me various outfits. At the time Wet Seal was having a Tanks and Tees 5 for $20 sale that I took absolute advantage of! I love undershirts and wear them every day and since my old ones are starting to show wear I decided to throw those away and stock up on new ones. So I got some in yellow, black, red, white, lavender, and dusty rose. The last item I got from Wet Seal was a floral gray and magenta scarf that will go with a sweater I got for Christmas, I love scarfs so this was a obvious pick for me.

Kohl's:

The only  purchase I made at Kohl's was this Vivani  white metal watch with rhinestone detailing. The reason I picked this up was because I have been looking for a white watch that looks just like my sisters' white GUESS watch that I absolutely love, love, love! But that watch is a bit on the expensive side and I was on a budget so I could not afford the the one my sister has. So when I saw this and realized it was almost a exact dupe for it and on sale I knew I could not pass up on it. Because of my small wrist it does fit me a bit big, but not big enough that it can fall off- so I'm contemplating whether or not I should get fixed. What do you guys think?

Target:

My last stop of  the day was Target. I originally went there to pick up on some U shaped hair pins so I can do my hair in a cute ballerina bun, but unfortunately they did not have any. They did however have some red patent flats that I have had my eye on for awhile so I took advantage that I was there and snatched them for myself. As for my last purchase I picked up the latest People Style Watch- that I saw while I was in the check out line.

And there you have a summary of my small shopping spree. Have you gone on any recent shopping sprees? If  so what did you buy? Or what would you like to buy? I love to hear about it.

How To: Clean Your Makeup Brushes

I'm sure you all know the importance of cleaning your makeup brushes, and if you didn't know then let me tell you IT IS IMPORTANT. If you do do not clean your brushes you run the risk of getting a infection from the bacteria your brushes may spread- so make sure you are cleaning your brushes at least once a week.

There are multiple ways to clean makeup brushes- such as using a makeup brush shampoo. But you can also use baby shampoo which is the way I clean my brushes and the way I will be showing you how to clean your brushes.

Things Needed:

  • Baby Shampoo
  • Bowl filled with water
  • Paper towel
  • Makeup Brushes
  1. Filled your bowl with luke warm water; place 2 open towels next to the bowl you will be cleaning your brushes in.
  2. Add a medium amount of baby shampoo to the palm of your hand.
  3. Grab one of your brushes and swirl it in the the shampoo.
  4. Dip only the bristles of your brush into the water; swirl the brush into the water until you see no more shampoo on your brush. *It is very important not to get the metal part of your brushes wet, this will cause the bristles to loosen and could eventually fall off*
  5. Get the brush and stroke it back and forth on the paper towels.
  6. Lay them out to dry and repeat with every brush you use.

Lay them down to dry for a day or so, and do not use until they are completely dry. Because I do not wear makeup on Sundays I like to wash my makeup brushes Saturday night or evening when I am done putting my makeup. Your makeup brushes can last you a very long time if you care for them properly so show some love to your makeup brushes.

Outfit of The Day!

While I wait for my next class to begin I decided to post a Polyvore set of my Outfit of The Day.  We are experiencing a very gloomy day here in Los Angeles- which gave me the perfect chance to wear my new trench coat. I paired my new Trench Coat from Jcpenney with jeans, a blue crochet top from Wet Seal, red ballet flats from Target, and my Alice in Wonderland necklace from Mod Cloth. Today's outfit will keep me warm without sacrificing style!

Recipe: Italian Herbs & Cheese Chicken Pasta

Welcome back ladies for another yummy recipe! This time around we will be making a delicious Italian Herbs & Cheese Chicken Pasta that unlike my last recipe that was something more healthy and quick to make- this recipes will take more time but not as hard as you may think.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Box of Penne Pasta
  • Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Creme in Italian Herbs and Cheese
  • 1 Bag of Broccoli Florets
  • 1 Large Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Large Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Pound of Boneless Chicken Breast
  • Olive Oil

Preparation:

1) Bring to a boil a big pot of water seasoned with a bit of salt; once the water is boiling add your Penne pasta.

2) While your pasta is cooking wash your chicken and cut them in medium bite sized pieces.

3) After you cut your chicken, go on and wash your vegetables. Cut your bell peppers length wise and wash and drain your broccoli florets.

4) If your pasta is done cooking; drain the pasta and take the pot back to the stove.

5) Once you return your pot to the stove, add 1 tsp of olive oil and add your chicken to cook. I seasoned my chicken with seasoning salt, garlic powder, and black pepper; but it all depends on how you like your chicken seasoned.

6) When your chicken is done add all your vegetables to the pot, mix it all together and cover for about 5 minutes to let the vegetables get tender.

7) After the 5 minutes uncover the pot and add your pasta and the Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Creme in Italian Herbs and Cheese.  Mix it all together until the cooking creme is evenly spread.

8) Let the pasta heat up for 5 more minutes, turn off the stove.

9) Serve yourself a nice hot plate of pasta, add some Parmesan cheese to it. Pair it up with your favorite garlic bread and you have yourself a nice Italian meal.

Voila! There you go ladies a delicious meal that is sure to make you want seconds . . . or even thirds! With Valentines Day coming up soon this is a amazing meal that you can make to your loved one in a romantic dinner. Enjoy!

I Went Shopping! Jcpenney Mini-Haul

For Christmas my brother gave me  $25 gift card to be used at any store I wished. Because I was trying to save up more money to go on a big shopping spree- I had not used it, also I did not find anything I absolutely wanted to buy with it. That was until last week while I was online window shopping ans saw something from Jcpenney that I knew I need to have . . .

Trench Coat

This was the item that convinced me to finally use up my gift card. I have been wanting to buy myself a trench coat for the longest time ever! I believe having a good trench coat in your closet is such a classic item that will it never go out of style, all you have to do is find new ways to wear it with. What attracted me the most about this trench coat was the ruffle detailing at the bottom. This detail made the trench coat to me much more unique and girly- that when I saw it I knew I had to have it.

*Outfit Idea: Indigo Skinny Jeans, Navy Nautical Top, Red Flats, and Gold earrings.*

Patterned Tiered Cami:

Because I had a $10 off coupon for Jcpenney I was able to buy another item from the store using my gift card and the coupon. So I picked up a dusty rose color, patterned  tiered cami with crochet detailing in the front- that is perfect for spring/summer. I love camis! I have so many that I actually have a drawer dedicated to just camis and tanks. So when I saw this on the next rack from where my trench coat was located I knew I had to buy it and add it to my cami collection.

*Outfit Idea: Distressed Jeans, White Braided Sandals, Pukka Shell Necklace, Brown Hobo Bag*

I am so excited to start making outfits with my new items! I already have so many in mind. Do you guys have any outfit ideas you would like to share with me? Let me know in the comments below.

Review: LUSH Colour Supplement Multi-Pupose Base Colour

My Shade in Dark Yellow for Olive Skin Tones with Beige Undertones

About almost two weeks a go me and my best friends spend the afternoon at Universal Citywalk in Hollywood for some much needed girl time. While there I decided to stop by LUSH to smell some of their goodies to see if there were any I want to try out and while there I saw their LUSH Colour Supplement Multi-Pupose Base Colour that can be used as foundation, concealer, and a tinted moisturizer. Because I have run out of my previous foundation (Clinique Even Better Makeup) and I am always looking for a new foundation to try out that will cover my blemishes and acne scars I decided to give this foundation a try.

About the product:
Made with soya and rice bran oils to care for all skin types, mix into your favorite moisturizer for a natural tint or use on its own as a foundation. You can also dot a little around unsightly blemishes for effective coverage. The colour supplements can be used on their own as a foundation or applied locally as a concealer. For a lighter finish, they can be used to create your own tinted moisturizer. Just combine a dab of colour supplement with your favorite moisturizer and blend together for your own specially created mix.

Pros and Cons:
Like all products do- this one also has it's pros and cons.

Pros:
  • Easily blend-able
  • Feels light
  • Soft finish
  • Smooth
  • Good Coverage
  • Natural ingredients

Cons:
  • Small color selection
  • Small jar
  • Pores still visible
Before Blending
After Blending

My Opinion:

I am always weary to try out new foundation or face products because I break out very easily thanks to  my semi-sensitive skin, but I absolutely loved this foundation!. It did not make me break out and I love how it feels so light that it almost seems like I'm not wearing any makeup on, if you were  to look at my face while wearing this foundation it would also seem to you as if I'm not wearing any makeup on. Because this foundation gives you a very nice dewy look I would suggest  setting it with powder if you have oily skin. I wish it would do a better job covering up my pores but since I use face primer and serum, this fact did not bother me. It does however do a good job hiding my blemishes and any redness I had at the  moment. Even though I wished for it to stay on my face longer it still had  a good staying period. Overall, this is a product I would recommend and repurchase again.

Have you tried LUSH Colour Supplement Multi-Purpose Base Colour ? If you have did you like it? Or is this a product you would pass out on? Let me know in the comment below.
