Review: Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool

One of my biggest insecurity has to be my skin. Don't get me wrong, I love my olive skin tone but thanks to genetics I suffer from big pores and thanks to my 13 year old self I was left with a few acne scars from my pre-teen years. Which is why I now try to take care of my skin as much as I possibly can such as washing my face twice a day, exfoliating twice a week, removing my makeup, wearing sunscreen, and letting my face go without makeup a few times a week. Saying all of that it is no surprise I was looking for a electronic face cleaner. I originally wanted the Clarisonic Mia, but that was a bit (or a lot) out of my budget. When I saw that Sigma now had a Cleansing and Polishing Tool available I decided to buy it and give it a try since Sigma has a great reputation and it was on my budget.

About The Product:

Say goodbye to dull and uneven skin! With the new Sigma Beauty Cleansing and Polishing Tool you can polish your skin to be perfectly smooth and flawless before and after your makeup application.

Facial Polishing:
Add a small amount of your favorite facial cleaner directly to the brush head prior to application. Use the SOFT brush head to exfoliate dead skin cells and expose a fresh healthy layer of skin. Keep your entire exfoliation process under one minute. Once your skin is polished, proceed with the application of your favorite moisturizer and makeup. You will notice that the polishing process will help your moisturizer deeply penetrate your skin creating the perfect base for flawless makeup application!

Facial Cleansing:
Remove excess makeup prior to cleansing with facial wipes containing makeup remover. Add a small amount of your favorite facial cleanser to the SOFT brush head and gently work it onto your skin using the Sigma Beauty Cleansing and Polishing Tool. Keep your cleansing process under one minute. Apply your favorite moisturizer and you're ready for your beauty sleep!

Pros and Cons:
Like all products this one has it's pros and cons. . .
Pros:
  • It leaves my skin feeling real smooth.
  • It comes in it's own case, which makes it easier for storing and traveling.
  • It has 3 different brushes aimed for different purposes.
  • It cost $39.00 (Which is great compared to the Clarisonic that cost $100 and up )
  • It is pink and white (one of my favorite color combinations)
Cons:
  • Battery operated. (I would prefer for it to be a tool that I can charge)
  • It did not come with batteries.
  • Does not clean my pores as well as I would like.

My Opinion:
Overall I am pretty happy with the product. I feel my face soft and clean, like it really does clean the days dirt away. So it pretty much does a good job cleaning my face, which is the reason I bought it.  However I still see that I have blackheads (I can't seem to get rid of them) and even though it is less than how I had them before I still wish it would of done a better job at getting rid of them. Maybe I just have to keep using it longer to see my blackheads completely gone. For being my first face cleaning tool I like it and would recommend it to other people that are in a budget like I was. I still hope in the future to buy the Clarisonic, but for now I am satisfied with my Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool.

Have you tried the Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool? Or do you prefer the Clarisonic? What is your favorite face tool, if you have one? Let me know in the comments below.

Glad to read this review, I don't own it but I wonder how this compares to other facial cleansers. =)

  3. Hi! do you still use it? Is it good? Do you like it?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but if it's good as the clarisonic, maybe I would give this one a try instead.

    1. I personally have not tried the clarisonic so I can't compare it to it. But I love my sigma cleaner. It seems to work well on me.
