In honor of the theatrical re-release of the Disney Classic "Beauty and the Beast" I created a more modern look on Belle's yellow dress as she danced with the beast. Hope you like it!

Vampire Diaries Fashion: Elena Gilbert

Unless you have been under a rock for the past three years, chances are that you have heard about the wildly popular show "Vampire Diaries" a show based on L.J Smith's book series of the same name. But just in case you have not heard of it or just haven't read the books or seen the series let me give you a little summary.

Vampire Diaries is about the life of a teenage girl named Elena who unknowingly falls in love with Stefan Salvatore, a 162 year old vampire who also loves her unconditionally.  But soon Stefan malicious older (and HOT) brother arrives to town and makes things for complicated. Soon Elena find herself caught in the middle of a supernatural world that she had no idea ever existed, and between the two Salvatore brothers. . .

Elena Gilbert Style:
Although being the protagonist of the show and series, Elena's style is all about casual wardrobe classics. She does not fuss over looking prim and proper all the time. She is all about looking relax and comfortable whether she is hanging out with her friends and boyfriend or running from vampires, Elena always looks put together without overdoing it.

Elena Gilbert Basics:
As stated before Elena's style is very casual. So her basics consist of items that are pretty much in every girls closet, which makes this look easily attainable.
  • Tees
  • Tank tops
  • Converse
  • Jeans
  • Henleys
  • Leather Jackets
When you are running away from vampires the last thing you want to do is wear a skirt or dress and look too pretty but Elena knows how to make casual look good! Because even though her wardrobe consist of classic teenage wardrobe pieces she knows that it is all about the fit. The fit of the clothes really does make or break a outfit. Too big and you look sloppy, too tight and you look uncomfortable. Elena also prefers to wear dark and deep toned colors that compliments her olive skin tone and her body.

Elena Gilbert Beauty:

Just like Elena's wardrobe her beauty regime is just as simple and low maintenance. She has the prettiest straight long hair so she rocks it by just wearing it down all the time. With her natural beauty and flawless skin she does not need any makeup. But if you are one of those people like me who cant go with at least some foundation on I have a few makeup tips to help you  achieve that natural beauty look.
  • Foundation: If you have uneven skin or acne scars like me. This is defiantly a must to help you create a flawless face. *If you have oily skin, don't forget to add some pressed powder afterwards*
  • Curl Eyelashes: After putting you eyelash curler under a blow dryer for 10 seconds, curl your eyelashes 3 times (Once at the root of your eyelashes, once in the middle of your eyelashes, and once at the tip of your eyelashes.) and hold for 15 seconds while doing it.
  • Mascara: Add 3 coats of your favorite mascara to your top and bottom lashes. *Don't forget to zig-zag as you put on your mascara to prevent clumping*
  • Blush: This really is not necessary but if you love putting on blush like I do then go for a chestnut rose color. * Like this one from Clinique in Chestnut *
  • Lip Gloss: Add a nude, clear, or light pink lip gloss to your lips.

I hope you girls enjoyed this little post on Elena Gilbert style and let me know if you guys would like to see more post like these where I talk about the style of popular t.v show characters. And remember that in the end it all is about confidence and Elena has tons of it. So as long as you are comfortable in your own skin and sure of your self. You can never go wrong.

Review: Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

A few weeks ago I received a free sample of Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator. So I thought it be a good idea to write a review on this is a brand new product from Clinique. For two weeks I switched my usual daily  moisturizer (Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion) for this new moisturizer. Did I notice a difference in my skin? Have I switched moisturizer? Or was I terribly disappointed? Well keep on reading and find out. . .

About the Product:
Aimed for dry skin types this rich, oil-free cream-gel instantly rehydrates. Skin stays comfortably plumped, even 24 hours after you put it on. Daily use helps fortify and repair skin's moisture barrier to keep moisture in, environmental irritants out. Better barrier, happier skin.
Skin Types: Dry to Dry Combination

My Experience Whit The Product:
Although I do not have dry skin type I still wanted to give this moisturizer a try. After a few days I started seeing improvement on my skin. My skin felt so soft that I could not stop caressing my face (bad I know haha) and my makeup really did went on much smoother and looked better.

Would I Recommend It?
Yes!! I would recommend this light-weight moisturizer to somebody else. Especially to someone with dry skin. If it gave me great results even though I do not have dry skin I can only imagine what wonders it would do to someone who does have a dry skin type. Although I really did love this moisturizer I still don't know if I would switch from my usual moisturizer to this new one. That is because I have been using the same moisturizer since I was 15 and I'm very loyal to some beauty products that have worked for me for years. So it would be bit strange to completely switch moisturizers. But I will gladly rotate between the two moisturizers, especially during the winter months when my skin need a bit extra hydration.

How about you?  Have you tried this new moisturizer, and did you like it? What is your favorite moisturizer? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

Random Thougth . . . .

School Supplies!!

In a few weeks I will be going back to school and it is time for me to do one of my favorite type of shopping, school supplies shopping!! I just love getting cute, chic school supplies and color coordinating to each class. As I wait for my financial money to arrive I can't help but already make mental lists of all the supplies and textbooks I will need for this upcoming semester. I'm pretty sure that once I gather all my school supplies together I will post a haul about it and who knows maybe I will do a organization post. . .
